Juliet Carr is the founder of the Kirwan-Carr Foundation, a non profit corporation dedicated to supporting individuals affected by attempted suicide. She is the author of Attempted Suicide: The Essential Guidebook for Loved Ones to be published Fall, 2010. She hopes her work in this area will raise awareness of the affects of attempted suicide and change the way suicidal people and their loved ones are treated by the professionals in the mental health industry and by the public at large.
Juliet's professional experience includes marketing, graphic design, journalism and event planning. She earned an Associate's Degree in Business Administration and Management and also studied English and Psychology in college. She is a member of the Suicide Prevention Coalition of Colorado and also serves as a member of their Board of Directors.
Montrose is the place she has called home for over 20 years and she shows her love for the community by working to promote literacy, animal rights, children rights, and education. Her passions include cooking, anything out doors, adventures, fun and spoiling herself and others. She is married to the love of her life, Joel, with whom she has 3 children; Bryce, Mallory and Braydon.
Rochelle Kirwan is the President of the Kirwan-Carr Foundation. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Human Performance and Wellness/Exercise Science graduating Magna Cum Laude. In addition she holds a Masters of Science degree in Nutritional Science and Exercise earning the award of Outstanding Graduate Student 2008. Throughout her education she was on the Dean’s list and was inducted into Gamma Beta Phi Honor Society in spring, 2005. Rochelle completed a Dietetic Internship with the VA hospitals in 2009 and upon completion was hired as a MOVE! Program Dietitian and Health & Fitness Specialist with the VA. Her professional development includes but is not limited to; Hines Employee Wellness Committee Member, Member of the American Dietetic Association, Member of the American College of Sports Medicine, Member of the Chicago Dietetic Association, and Member of the Bozeman Dietetic Association.
Rochelle is passionate about learning regarding food and nutrition and enjoys cooking and eating delicious food. She loves her dog Sunny and they have been on many trips, hiking trails, airplanes and roads together in the last 15 years. Other loves include her niece and nephews and sleeping in on the weekends. Some of her hobbies are running, weight training, biking, cross country skiing, music, yard games, watching movies, dancing, learning, laughing, reading, and writing. She hopes to use her knowledge of nutrition and exercise to help individuals overcome physical and mental limitations. She is working to build awareness about the stigma of attempted suicide and help those affected by attempted suicide begin the healing process.
